This camera works fine, but took quite a lot of effort to setup. Documentation is poor, tech support (in India) was useless.
I purchased an Airlink 101 Spycam747w through Amazon.com about a month ago. I am now thinking of buying the AIC250w as a second monitoring camera for the rest of the barn. Set up was simple with straight forward directions that even a computer illiterate person like me could understand.The software sold with every Airlink camera makes viewing the camera shots from your computer simple and easy also.
Camera was purchased to use as a barn monitor for our pregnant goats. For instance the IE software allows setting and panning to 8 pre-set locations whereas the UL software only allows you to scan the pre-sets configured on IE or move the camera by small degrees independently. That camera is no longer listed on Amazon but I wanted to place a review here.
My ONLY complaint is that the software that allows you access to the camera through internet explorer (IP address) gives you much better camera movement options than the Airlink 101 UL view software. It has worked GREAT. The camera is located in a metal roof, insulated barn about 250-300 ft from the back of the house and through some trees, the router is located in the living room in the front of the house, so add another 30 feet through walls and yet I have had little to no problem maintaining a constant connection.
I love the full screen mode in the UL software, but would like to be able to move to my pre-sets without going into IE. Inexpensive but NOT cheap.
Very reliable so far after two months. Saves steps walking to the door to see who is there. Awkward software, but after setup, just a browser needed for camera view. No night light.
It is not listed, but would be great if it was.The menu to set every thing up is simple and not fancy. Well. Simple+not fancy = good for configuration.This product comes with software that allows you to view your camera, up to 16 total, with ease.Setting up the wireless is as simple as walking.Of course if I did not have to change my channel on my Access point I would have had it setup faster :). This product is very good for its price.I bought this product just for fun.The documents are well documented, but only a few tight ends that should of been included. One is the minimum version of Java required. But that problem can be common for any wireless devices.
